ושלמה הוה שליט בכל מלכותא מן נהר פרת עד ארע פלשתאי ועד תחום מצרים מקרבין קרבנא ופלחין ית שלמה כל יומי חיוהי:
khywhy ywmy kl shlmh yth wplkhyn qrbna mqrbyn mtsrym thkhwm wed plshthay are ed prth nhr mn mlkwtha bkl shlyT hwh wshlmh
Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father, and Hiram had always loved David.

והוה לחמא דשלמה ליומא חד תלתין כרין סלתא ושתין כרין קמחא:
qmkha kryn wshthyn sltha kryn thlthyn khd lywma dshlmh lkhma whwh
Solomon sent to Hiram, saying,

עסרא תורין דפטמא ועסרין תורין דרעיא ומאה ענא בר מאילין וטבין ויחמורין ועופיא פטימיא:
pTymya wewpya wykhmwryn wTbyn maylyn br ena wmah dreya thwryn wesryn dpTma thwryn esra
“You know that David my father could not build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars which were around him on every side, until Yahweh put his enemies under the soles of his feet.

ארי הוא מפלח בכל עבר פרת מתפסח ועד עזה בכל מלכי עבר פרת ושלמא הוה ליה מכל עברוהי מסחור סחור:
skhwr mskhwr ebrwhy mkl lyh hwh wshlma prth ebr mlky bkl ezh wed mthpskh prth ebr bkl mplkh hwa ary
But now Yahweh my God has given me rest on every side. There is no enemy and no evil occurrence.

ויתיב יהודה וישראל לרוחצן גבר תחות פרי גופנוהי ותחות פרי תאנוהי מדן ועד באר שבע כל יומי שלמה:
shlmh ywmy kl shbe bar wed mdn thanwhy pry wthkhwth gwpnwhy pry thkhwth gbr lrwkhtsn wyshral yhwdh wythyb
Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh spoke to David my father, saying, ‘Your son, whom I will set on your throne in your place shall build the house for my name.’

והוו לשלמה ארבעין אלפין ארות סוסון לרתיכוהי ותרי עסר אלפין פרשין:
prshyn alpyn esr wthry lrthykwhy swswn arwth alpyn arbeyn lshlmh whww
Now therefore command that cedar trees be cut for me out of Lebanon. My servants will be with your servants; and I will give you wages for your servants according to all that you say. For you know that there is nobody among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.”

ומסוברין אסטרטיגיא האלין ית מלכא שלמה וית כל דקריב לפתורא דמלכא שלמה גבר ירחיה לא מעכבין מדעם:
mdem mekbyn la yrkhyh gbr shlmh dmlka lpthwra dqryb kl wyth shlmh mlka yth halyn asTrTygya wmswbryn
When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is Yahweh today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”

וסעוריא ותבנא לסוסותא ולרכשא מיתן לאתרא דיהי תמן גבר כהלכתיה:
khlkthyh gbr thmn dyhy lathra mythn wlrksha lswswtha wthbna wsewrya
Hiram sent to Solomon, saying, “I have heard the message which you have sent to me. I will do all your desire concerning timber of cedar, and concerning cypress timber.

ויהב יי חוכמתא לשלמה וסוכלתנותא סגי לחדא ופתיות לבא כחלא דעל כף ימא:
yma kp del kkhla lba wpthywth lkhda sgy wswklthnwtha lshlmh khwkmtha yy wyhb
My servants will bring them down from Lebanon to the sea. I will make them into rafts to go by sea to the place that you specify to me, and will cause them to be broken up there, and you will receive them. You will accomplish my desire, in giving food for my household.”

וסגיאת חוכמת שלמה מחוכמת כל בני מדינחא ומכל חוכמת מצרים:
mtsrym khwkmth wmkl mdynkha bny kl mkhwkmth shlmh khwkmth wsgyath
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber according to all his desire.

וחכם מכל אנשא מאיתן בר זרח והימן וכלכל ודרדע בני מחול והוה שמיה סגי בכל עממיא סחור סחור:
skhwr skhwr emmya bkl sgy shmyh whwh mkhwl bny wdrde wklkl whymn zrkh br maythn ansha mkl wkhkm
Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors of wheat for food to his household, and twenty cors of pure oil. Solomon gave this to Hiram year by year.

ומלל תלתא אלפין מתלין והואה תושבחתיה אלף וחמש:
wkhmsh alp thwshbkhthyh whwah mthlyn alpyn thltha wmll
Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him. There was peace between Hiram and Solomon, and the two of them made a treaty together.

ואתנבי על מלכי בית דוד דעתידין למשלט בעלמא הדין ובעלמא דאתי דמשיחא ואתנבי על בעירא ועל עופא ועל ריחשא ועל נוניא:
nwnya wel rykhsha wel ewpa wel beyra el wathnby dmshykha dathy wbelma hdyn belma lmshlT dethydyn dwd byth mlky el wathnby
King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

ואתו מכל עממיא למשמע ית חוכמת שלמה מכל מלכי ארעא דשמעין ית חוכמתיה:
khwkmthyh yth dshmeyn area mlky mkl shlmh khwkmth yth lmshme emmya mkl wathw
He sent them to Lebanon, ten thousand a month by courses: for a month they were in Lebanon, and two months at home; and Adoniram was over the men subject to forced labor.

ושלח חירם מלכא דצור ית עבדוהי לות שלמה ארי שמע ארי יתיה משחו למהוי מלכא תחות אבוהי ארי רחימא הוה חירם לדוד כל יומיא:
ywmya kl ldwd khyrm hwh rkhyma ary abwhy thkhwth mlka lmhwy mshkhw ythyh ary shme ary shlmh lwth ebdwhy yth dtswr mlka khyrm wshlkh
Solomon had seventy thousand who bore burdens, and eighty thousand who were stone cutters in the mountains,

ושלח שלמה לות חירם למימר:
lmymr khyrm lwth shlmh wshlkh
besides Solomon’s chief officers who were over the work: three thousand three hundred who ruled over the people who labored in the work.

את ידעת ית דוד אבא ארי לא יכיל למבני ביתא לשמא דיי אלהיה מן קדם עבדי קרבא דאקפוהי עד דמסר יי יתהון תחות פרסת רגלוהי:
rglwhy prsth thkhwth ythhwn yy dmsr ed daqpwhy qrba ebdy qdm mn alhyh dyy lshma bytha lmbny ykyl la ary aba dwd yth ydeth ath
The king commanded, and they cut out large stones, costly stones, to lay the foundation of the house with worked stone.
18
וכען אניח יי אלהי לי מסחור סחור לית שטן ולית פגע ביש:
bysh pge wlyth shTn lyth skhwr mskhwr ly alhy yy anykh wken
Solomon’s builders and Hiram’s builders and the Gebalites cut them, and prepared the timber and the stones to build the house.

והא אנא אמר למבני ביתא לשמא דיי אלהי כמא דמליל יי עם דוד אבא למימר בריך דאתן תחותך על כורסי מלכותך הוא יבני ביתא לשמי:
lshmy bytha ybny hwa mlkwthk kwrsy el thkhwthk dathn bryk lmymr aba dwd em yy dmlyl kma alhy dyy lshma bytha lmbny amr ana wha

וכען פקיד ויקצצון לי ארזין מן לבנן ועבדי יהון עם עבדיך ואגר עבדיך אתן לך ככל דתימר ארי את ידעת ארי לית בנא גברא דידע למקץ אעין כצידונאי:
ktsydwnay aeyn lmqts dyde gbra bna lyth ary ydeth ath ary dthymr kkl lk athn ebdyk wagr ebdyk em yhwn webdy lbnn mn arzyn ly wyqtstswn pqyd wken

והוה כד שמע חירם ית פתגמי דשלמה וחדי לחדא ואמר בריך יי יומא דין דיהב לדוד בר חכים על עמא סגיאה הדין:
hdyn sgyah ema el khkym br ldwd dyhb dyn ywma yy bryk wamr lkhda wkhdy dshlmh pthgmy yth khyrm shme kd whwh

ושלח חירם לות שלמה למימר שמעית ית דשלחתא לותי אנא אספיק ית כל צורכך באעי ארזין ובאעי בירון:
byrwn wbaey arzyn baey tswrkk kl yth aspyq ana lwthy dshlkhtha yth shmeyth lmymr shlmh lwth khyrm wshlkh

עבדי ייחתון מן לבנן לימא ואנא אשוינון תורנסין בימא עד אתרא דתשלח לי וארמינון תמן ואת תטול ואת תספיק צורכי למתן מזון לאנש ביתי:
bythy lansh mzwn lmthn tswrky thspyq wath thTwl wath thmn warmynwn ly dthshlkh athra ed byma thwrnsyn ashwynwn wana lyma lbnn mn yykhthwn ebdy

והוה חירם יהיב לשלמה אעי ארזין ואעי בירון כל צורכיה:
tswrkyh kl byrwn waey arzyn aey lshlmh yhyb khyrm whwh
25
ושלמה יהיב לחירם עסרין אלפין כורין חיטין פרנוס לאנש ביתיה ועסרין כורין משחא כתישא כדין יהיב שלמה לחירם שנא בשנא:
bshna shna lkhyrm shlmh yhyb kdyn kthysha mshkha kwryn wesryn bythyh lansh prnws khyTyn kwryn alpyn esryn lkhyrm yhyb wshlmh

ויי יהב חוכמתא לשלמה כמא דמליל ליה והוה שלמא בין חירם ובין שלמה וגזרו קים תרויהון:
thrwyhwn qym wgzrw shlmh wbyn khyrm byn shlma whwh lyh dmlyl kma lshlmh khwkmtha yhb wyy

ומני מלכא שלמה מסקי מסין מכל ישראל והוה מסקי מסין תלתין אלפין גברא:
gbra alpyn thlthyn msyn msqy whwh yshral mkl msyn msqy shlmh mlka wmny

ושלחינון ללבנן עסרא אלפין ירחא משתנן ירחא הוו בלבנן תרין ירחין גבר בביתיה ואדונירם ממנא על מסקי מסין:
msyn msqy el mmna wadwnyrm bbythyh gbr yrkhyn thryn blbnn hww yrkha mshthnn yrkha alpyn esra llbnn wshlkhynwn

והוה לשלמה שבעין אלפין דנטלין בכתפא ותמנן אלפין דפסלין בטורא:
bTwra dpslyn alpyn wthmnn bkthpa dnTlyn alpyn shbeyn lshlmh whwh
30
בר מרבני איסטרטיגיא דממנן על עבידתא דשלמה תלתא אלפין ותלת מאה דמפלחין בעמא דעבדין בעבידתא:
bebydtha debdyn bema dmplkhyn mah wthlth alpyn thltha dshlmh ebydtha el dmmnn aysTrTygya mrbny br

ופקיד מלכא ועקרו אבנין רברבן אבנין יקרן לשכללא ביתא אבנין פסילן:
